Practical knowledge

A note from the founder
Lydia Nabwami
Founder & Registered Nurse
Willow was founded by Lydia Nabwami, a Registered Nurse with more than 10 years of clinical and care-sector experience.
Her experience spans intensive care, A&E, district nursing, care homes, domiciliary care, community care and complex care.
Alongside her clinical experience, Lydia has worked across clinical management, CQC-regulated services, governance and the operational organisation of care services.
This combination of frontline clinical experience and management understanding gives Willow a practical perspective on the realities care organisations face.
The gap willow follows
Why Willow Was Created
Willow was created from a desire to use extensive clinical
and care-sector experience in a different way.
Through years of working within healthcare and care provision, Lydia recognised that many organisations need access to experienced clinical leadership and governance expertise but may not need, or be ready to employ, a full-time senior clinical professional. Willow was created to bridge that gap.
Rather than organisations having to employ a full-time Clinical Lead for every requirement, Willow can provide flexible access to experienced clinical expertise according to the organisation’s needs, through:

Our Approach
Practical
We focus on solutions that work in the real world.
Independent
We provide objective professional advice and clinical oversight.
Collaborative
We work alongside organisations rather than simply identifying problems.
Person-centred
The safety, dignity, experience and wellbeing of people receiving care remain central to our work.
Evidence-informed
Our recommendations are grounded in professional experience, appropriate standards and good clinical practice.
What we believe
Good clinical governance should be more
than completing paperwork for an inspection.
It should help organisations understand their risks, strengthen their systems, support their staff and improve the quality and safety of care. We believe organisations benefit when clinical expertise is accessible, practical and connected to the realities of day-to-day care delivery.
The Future of Willow
Willow is initially founder-led, with the intention of developing a wider network of appropriately qualified clinical and healthcare professionals as the consultancy grows. The longer-term vision is to build a trusted specialist consultancy capable of providing a broader range of clinical, governance, training and healthcare expertise.
